I got an email today.
From a solicitor.
Overseas.
Apparently, a distant relative has died and left me ££millions!!
All I have to do is transfer a large sum of money, to the solicitor, and they will send me my inheritance.
Shall I transfer the money?
No, I didn’t think so either.
Because it’s nonsense!
Beware of people promising things which seem too good to be true.
Including estate agents.
Promising a sale price far in excess of everyone else.
It’s the oldest trick in the book.
Give the client a ridiculous valuation.
Get the house on the market.
And then drop the price.
It’s a waste of your time.
The house won’t sell for more than it’s true value.
It will just sit on the market, unsold.
Don’t get sucked in by the dubious tactics some agents use.
Get more than one valuation.
Use your common sense.
Be realistic.
And remember, if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
