For me, it has to be Mince Pies! I can’t get enough of them!
We’re having a big family Xmas this year, with 10 of us squeezed around the dining room table, the picnic chairs brought in from the garage, so that we all have somewhere to sit. It will be a bit of a squash, but it will be fun! Some strategic planning will be required, to ensure that I don’t get sat next to the in-laws again this year!
We’ll do what most families do on Christmas day – party hats, presents, booze, turkey and all the trimmings, pigs in blankets, laughter, arguments, booze, mince pies – obviously, falling asleep in front of the TV, turkey sandwiches. More booze! Probably the same as every other household in the UK.
But did you know, there is another tradition, over the Christmas and New Year period?
This may surprise you, but Rightmove report a huge spike in visits to their website over the festive period, with a massive 40,000,000 page views reported on New Year’s Day alone in 2019.
Traditional thinking has been to put your property on the market in the New Year, but actually, it would make sense to start marketing your home NOW, to benefit from the surge in activity among potential home buyers over the Xmas period. And, with Brexit due to be delivered at the end of January, there is a very real prospect of the market recovering next year, with a likely increase in demand from potential, making the sale of your property a very real prospect!
